What does it mean?

  • LATE - If an assignment has been marked LATE, it means that it was turned in after the due date. An assignment could be marked LATE even before it is turned in if the due date has already passed. Students who have an excused absence from school or class are given a one day extension for each day they are absent. Work turned in after the allowed extension will be marked LATE and may not receive full credit.
  • Missing - If an assignment has a check mark in the "missing" column that means the assignment has not been turned in yet. If an assignment is turned in without the student's name, it could be marked "missing" until the student turns the assignment in again with his/her name. At that time the assignment is marked LATE and the student may not receive full credit.
  • No Count - If an assignment has a check mark in the "no count" column, it means that this score is not affecting the student's grade in the class. This assignment does NOT count.
  • * (asterisk) - If an assignment has an asterisk instead of a number in the points earned column, it means that no score has been entered by the teacher. You might see this when an assignment heading as been entered but the work has not been collected or graded by the teacher. You might also see an asterisk for extra credit assignments or assignments not required of the student. An asterisk does not impact the students overall grade.
