Sixth grade students in Mrs. Sullivan's Newspaper Skills class will put their writing abilities to the test as they contribute to an online newspaper called The Hook.
Each quarter the newspaper skills class adds their talents to our online blog site which features articles about school events, people, and things to do. Students are given a menu of requirements but there is a lot of choice within this menu. Every quarter, a new group of students agrees on the emphasis of the class. For example, first quarter students wrote editorials. Second quarter, students may be writing book reviews. In addition, every quarter students write news articles and special interest articles. This quarter we are hoping to have more sports related articles.
The newspaper class meets everyday from 10:00-10:55. If you have an interesting idea for an article, email Mrs. Sullivan at: ksullivan@steilacoom.k12.wa.us and she will pass the story on to one of her reporters.
